Ingredients

  • 500 ml milk
  • 60 g sugar
  • 30 g cornstarch
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 bananas
  • 16 vanilla wafers
  • 150 ml whipped cream

Method

  1. Step 1

    Whisk the sugar, cornstarch, and egg yolks in a saucepan until smooth.

  2. Step 2

    Pour in the milk gradually while whisking so no lumps form.

  3. Step 3

    Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the pudding thickens.

  4. Step 4

    Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the vanilla.

  5. Step 5

    Slice the bananas and line the base of the cups or dish with vanilla wafers and banana slices.

  6. Step 6

    Pour over the warm pudding and spread it evenly.

  7. Step 7

    Top with whipped cream and chill for at least 3 hours before serving.
