Ingredients

  • 250 g plain flour
  • 80 g sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 170 ml milk
  • 60 g melted butter
  • 50 g brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 100 g icing sugar

Method

  1. Step 1

    Heat the oven to 180°C and grease an oven-safe skillet.

  2. Step 2

    Whisk the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.

  3. Step 3

    Whisk the egg, milk, and melted butter in a second bowl, then stir the wet mixture into the dry ingredients.

    Spread half of the batter into the skillet.

  5. Step 5

    Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle most of it over the batter, then spoon over the remaining batter and finish with the rest of the cinnamon sugar.

  6. Step 6

    Swirl the top lightly with a knife.

  7. Step 7

    Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden, then drizzle with the icing before serving.
